Characteristics of special circulations

چکیده
Abstract Blood flow through a vascular bed is usually determined by the pressure gradient across it and diameter of precapillary resistance vessels. Special circulations have additional specific features blood control. Several organs control their supply autoregulation. Coronary linked to myocardial oxygen consumption, primarily metabolic mechanism. Increases in demand or decreases cause release vasodilator metabolites, which act on smooth muscle vessel relaxation hence increase flow. Cerebral regulated myogenic mechanism whereby increases transmural stretch muscle, responds contracting. Renal both extrinsic intrinsic mechanisms; sympathetic vasoconstriction afferent arterioles reduces renal response decrease effective circulating volume, mechanisms tubuloglomerular feedback, as well vasoactive metabolites from endothelium regulate intrinsically. Hepatic delivered via portal vein hepatic artery, amount varies these vessels reciprocally maintain constant total The pulmonary circulation receives entire cardiac output, passively actively. Pulmonary are highly distensible can accommodate without significant pressure.

The circulation around any closed loop is a Lagrangian invariant for classical, smooth solutions of the incompressible Euler equations in any number of space dimensions. However, singular solutions relevant to turbulent flows need not preserve the classical integrals of motion. Here we generalize the Kelvin theorem on conservation of circulations to distributional solutions of Euler and give ne...

In this paper, we study the Navier-Stokes equation in which the unknown functions are the vorticity and the streamfunction. Our goal is to estimate the long-time innuence of a small error in the initial data. In order to do this, we write down the symmetrized linearized Navier-Stokes equation and we estimate the eigenvalues of the corresponding operator. A comparison between these estimates and...

The response of the tropical atmosphere to steady forcing for all four seasons is computed using a simple two-layer linear primitive-equation model allowing an arbitrary basic flow with two-dimensional shear. The character of each seasonal response is studied, and two distinct forms of behavior are found. Near the Equator, the forcing excites a slowly varying Kelvin wave of the time scale of mo...
متن کاملDiagnosis of boundary-layer circulations.
Diagnoses of circulations in the vertical plane provide valuable insights into aspects of the dynamics of the climate system. Dynamical theories based on geostrophic balance have proved useful in deriving diagnostic equations for these circulations. For example, semi-geostrophic theory gives rise to the Sawyer-Eliassen equation (SEE) that predicts, among other things, circulations around mid-la...
